Zack Snyder’s family criticizes Warner Bros. for “meddling” with Justice League

Justice League is a very divisive movie amongst fans, even here at GameZone we've found ourselves strongly disagreeing on the movie leading to two separate reviews. The reason being for this is that the movie suffered from a very troubled production with a change in leadership, extensive reshoots, and scenes being entirely removed or trimmed down to meet a two hour runtime.

Fans have criticized Warner Bros. for botching Zack Snyder's vision after he left the project due to a family tragedy and was replaced by The Avengers director Joss Whedon. Snyder turned in a cut of the film to WB but they ultimately felt it wasn't up to snuff and maybe felt that it would recieve the backlash of Batman v Superman, so Whedon was brought into perform rewrites.

Now, Snyder's son, Jett, has taken to social media app Vero to call out the major studio.

"… I did enjoy the movie, although it is clearly not what it could have been due to the meddling of Warner Brothers and the forced comedy. The run time was my biggest gripe, with events that should take a long time over in a flash ;$ but still definitely a fun movie to watch, and would recommend it."

Zack Snyder, executive producer Wesley Coller, and longtime set photographer for Snyder, Clay Enos, all liked the post from Jett. Fans have called for Warner Bros. to release Snyder's cut of the film via the home video release of the film and Justice League's cinematographer Fabian Wagner endorsed a director's cut.

"This one was even shorter than I expected, so there are scenes that aren't in there. I really hope we get to see a director's cut, which will give us everything we shot that didn't make it in."

It's too soon to say if WB will greenlight Snyder's version for the Blu-Ray release but there was a 30 minute R-rated extended edition of BVS that gave a lot more context to some plots within the film. Snyder himself hasn't even seen the movie since handing it over to Whedon so maybe if he sees it, he may be more inclined to call up WB and make a request to finish editing his director's cut.

Justice League is in theaters now.
