Zack Snyder will use a different approach to Aquaman’s underwater scenes

It was recently revealed that Zack Snyder plans to take a different approach with the underwater scenes in the upcoming Justice League movie.

With rumors and news circulating around all the forthcoming DC Cinematic Universe projects, one film in particular has left many people wondering how completing such a movie could work and still fit in the rest of this world. The Aquaman movie still leaves a great deal to the imagination considering how little is known about the production. The only things we've learned so far are the 2018 release date, the casting of Jason Mamoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman and Amber Heard as his queen, Mera/Aquawoman, and the rumor that Willem Dafoe may be playing an Atlantean ally. One of the biggest hurdles the production will have to overcome is executing the world of Atlantis, Aquaman's underwater home and dominion.

Apparently, director Zack Snyder has made the decision to omit the use of massive water tanks and instead have the actors work completely dry against a blue screen for the filming of Justice League- Part I. With a movie featuring Aquaman, it can be expected that most of his scenes would take place underwater, so it makes sense that Snyder would want his actors to operate completely unencumbered by being totally submerged for most of the production. He plans to utilize a series of specialized harnesses and a great deal of CGI in order to create the illusion that what we're seeing is thousands of miles beneath the ocean. We won't see the affect this approach will have on the feature length 'Aquaman' film just yet, but we'll get our first look at how it'll all play out when Justice League- Part I opens next November.

Justice League- Part I releases Novemeber 17, 2017!
