Sega is relaunching Zaxxon with a new spin on the space shooter in mind.
The arcade classic from 1982 returns later this year as Zaxxon Escape, moving away from its previous isometric shoot-em-up design toward 3D space flight. It's coming to iPad, iPhone, and Google Play devices.
Zaxxon wasn't available to arcade players in the U.S., but it did come to different platforms and was an unlockable in the Sega Genesis Collection for PlayStation 2 and Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
