Zelda for Wii U rumored to feature choice of female or male Link and more

Earlier this year it was rumored that the delay for the coming The Legend of Zelda game was due to the fact that the game, which had been announced for the Wii U, would also be heading to the Nintendo's next console, the NX.

New rumors not only further suggest that Zelda for Wii U will hit the NX, but that Link will be a silent protagonist and players will be able to choose between playing a female or male protagonist. It isn't detailed whether the female character will be Link or not, but it is anticipated to be the case (perhaps Linkle).

Whether Zelda will switch genders with the protagonist has yet to be rumored.

The source of these rumors is Emily Rogers (via NeoGaf), an individual that has leaked information in the past that has turned out to be true. Rogers leaked Paper Mario as a Wii U game before it was revealed during a recent Nintendo Direct. This individual has also suggested that Mother 3 is being released this year, a rumor that has been suggested by multiple sources.
