Zeno Clash 2 gets weird challenge modes and Steam trading cards

Now that Zeno Clash 2 is finally out on all platforms, Ace Team is ready to introduce free new content for the first-person brawler.

The PC version received two new modes today as well as a batch of Steam trading cards, which count toward player profile features on Steam. The game is available for only $8 (a 60 percent discount) as part of Steam's Midweek Madness sale going on now until tomorrow.

Up first is the Frame-rate Challenge mode, where surreal "wireframe" enemies spawn from across the Internet with increasing frequency. Players must keep the speed from dropping below 25 fps. Waves are only limited by how beefy your computer is, which is a kind of tongue-in-cheek twist considering Zeno Clash 2 lost favor with some critics for glitch and frame-rate problems.

Next is the Colosseum Challenge, where 50 waves of foes attack, each stronger than the last. Players can break between rounds to buy weapons, power-ups, and allies — to bring as many as you like into battle — from the store. Friends can join in, too.
