UPDATE: ZeRo was mistakenly said to main Zero Suit Samus, when in fact his character of choice was Shiek. Original story below.
After a series of intense matches with bike-launching offensives, a shocking early defeat and risky character switches, ZeRo took the title as the winner of Evo 2015's Super Smash Bros. Wii U tournament.
The tournament came to a head with a best-of-five match against two professional players on the competitive Smash scene: ZeRo and LLL Mr-R. The two beat out six other rivals in the Top 8 Bracket, securing their way into the Grand Finals. Before the match even commenced, ZeRo surprised the audience by choosing Diddy Kong rather than his main of Zero Suit Samus, which he had used to climb the ranks. And in a spectacular showing of agile responses, banana tossing and impressive recoveries, ZeRo did not allow his opponent to win a single match, winning 3-0 with a stunning combo for a finish.
Other players in the Top 8 fought a good game, which included international players from the Netherlands and Canada. Bill Trinen was originally to participate in the event but chose to withdraw because of the recent passing of late Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata.
