Phosphor Games is developing an urban-themed massively multiplayer online survival game called Nether, announced today.
The PC title is set in a post-apocalyptic future — zombie-free — and is inspired by DayZ. Players must survive while figuring out what happened that changed mankind. They can work together, forging alliances, or venture alone. Either way, their actions and decisions shape their stories in persistent online worlds. Up to 64 players can fit on a server at one time to help strike a balance between isolation and community.
"Prey or pray," the tagline reads. The game's title refers to its original monsters, which hunt by sound and possess deadly supernatural abilities.
A closed beta is planned for the fall. Sign-ups are open now.
