$100 for a PlayStation 3? Yes, Please!

Let’s face it: the PlayStation 3 is a pretty pricey piece of hardware, as far as video game consoles go. And unless you already own one (or are some stark-raving anti-Sony fanboy), then you would probably like to see that price come down a little before taking the plunge. Heck, even if you already own one, you probably would have liked to have paid less for it. Mind, that’s not a knock on the quality of the platform; the simple fact is, who wouldn’t like to get something for less?

Anyway, price is a pretty considerable hurdle for those who want to join Sony’s premiere Blu-ray generation, but there apparently is a way that you can get in on the action at a lower price. How much lower? How does $100 sound?

That’s the kind of deal CNET is talking about today, but it takes a bit of time and a bit of work. But if your credit rating is good enough to net you a PlayStation Visa card, then the rest may be easy enough.

I’m pretty sure we mentioned this kind of deal sometime in the past, or one like it, but I figured it bears repeating. After all, what real gamer wouldn’t want to at least consider a $100 PS3– even if you already have a Wii and Xbox 360 sitting side-by-side?

I just need to figure out if this works in Canada.
