360 Dated?

IGN is reporting that November 25, 2005 could be the final launch date for Xbox 360.

According to IGN’s report, several retailers talked with the network, telling them that recent e-mails point to launch games shipping as early as November 22, with the 360 itself hitting shelves the day after Thanksgiving, the busiest shopping day in the U.S..

The report says that one reason Microsoft plans to launch the 360 later in November then previously expected is because the company wants publishers and developers to have more time developing their 360 launch titles. Moreover, the company believes that a Thanksgiving launch would sell the most units.

On a related note, Microsoft has supposedly shipped final development kits to many developers, replacing the summer kits that have previously been in use. The swap in development kits have, according to IGN, added to many developers frustrations.
