5 other games perfect for the Fallout 4 fan in your life

RAGE

A controversial decision, RAGE is a shining example of what would happen if you took a DOOM game and placed it in a semi-open post-apocalyptic world. It may not have been as open and free-roaming as some would have liked, but it’s still an enjoying romp. Considering its now budget price tag, there’s nothing wrong with picking the game up to see what all the fuss was about considering id Software’s newest IP. Just make sure that you have access to an Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, or capable computer.

Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

There will probably be countless articles that say “Holiday Gamer Gift Guide” or “If you like Fallout 4 you’ll love these games!” this month. This will be on all of them. The comparisons are obvious with the biggest difference being Witcher 3’s fantasy setting. Now, many Fallout 4 owners will have already played Witcher 3 to death and back. Some, however, haven’t. Maybe it wasn’t on their radar. It’s possible that their budgets only included Fallout 4. Others could have picked up a new console just for Fallout 4, meaning they didn’t get the chance to play Witcher 3. Whatever the reason, it’ll be a good idea to take advantage of holiday deals on one of the best games of the year if you haven’t played it yet.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

In the event you like your narrative design to be out of this galaxy, then Metal Gear Solid is the franchise for you. The Phantom Pain took the tactical stealth franchise into the open world with spectacular results. Sure, the world may not be as post-apocalyptic as you like, but give its characters a chance. There’s nothing else quite like them in gaming, I assure you.

Mass Effect

In the odd event that you’ve been living in Vault 101 for the past decade or so, then you missed out on one of the best franchises released on the previous consoles. BioWare’s Sci-Fi Action RPG was nothing short of brilliant for 99.5% of its entirety. The only exception is its controversial ending, but don’t let that ruin the experience for you. If you still have access to an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, it’s worth the pick-up if you managed to miss out the first time around. Maybe you’re feeling nostalgic? There’s nothing wrong with another go, especially since Mass Effect is now backwards compatible on Xbox One.

Chances are you know someone who is playing Fallout 4. There’s a strong likely hood that the only thing they want for the holidays this year is more time to play Fallout 4. Sometimes, however, they might feel an urge to venture out into new worlds and play games that aren’t Fallout 4. That’s where we come in. Using three key drawing powers from Bethesda’s latest RPG (open world, dialogue and narrative focus, intense combat), here are some games Fallout 4 fans may be interested in.

The Elder Scrolls Franchise

This one is a no brainer, especially for any PC gamer. 2014’s The Elder Scrolls Anthology currently sits at a $69.99 price tag on Amazon. For those unaware, the anthology contains all five proper Elder Scrolls title in one package: Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind with the Tribunal and Bloodmoon add-ons, Oblivion with the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions, and Skyrim with the Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn add-ons. For those that didn’t do that math just yet, that’s five full games for $14 each. If you or a loved one has a capable PC, this is an easy pick-up.
