6 3DS games that you have to play in 2015

Can we all agree that the 3DS is the greatest handheld gaming device of all-time? Whether you think that statement is true or false, you can’t deny the massive, impressive library of quality games that the 3DS has. 2014 had some excellent releases. 2015, while it’s still early and we don’t know the full list of game releases, already has some awesome titles coming to Nintendo’s handheld in 2015.

Out of the games we know are coming out on the 3DS, here are six titles we think every 3DS should play come 2015.

Code Name S.T.E.A.M.

Perhaps the weirdest game on this list, it’s also the one we are most excited for. Code Name S.T.E.A.M. (which is annoying to type out a lot) combines turn-based strategy, squad tactics and a third-person shooter. There’s aliens, steampunk elements, and … Abe Lincoln? You know you always wanted to defend Earth from aliens as Abe Lincoln.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Coming in early 2015, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is said to be the biggest leap forward ever for the series with more new content and features than ever before. Players can join up via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and local wireless option, there’s two new weapon classes, more vertical environments and lateral movement, and even new wall attacks. Needless to say, we’re going to be playing a lot of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate in 2015.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D

After how awesome Ocarina of Time was on the 3DS, we knew it was only a matter of time until Majora’s Mask made its way over as well. This remastered and enhanced edition will likely have impressive 3D effects. We can’t wait to revisit Termina and save the world as Link.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon

Fans of the Etrian series will likely be playing a lot of Etrian Mystery Dungeon come 2015. Developed by ATLUS and Spike Chunsoft, this turn-based action RPG rougelike mixes Etrian Odyssey’s RPG party and skill customization aspects with Mystery Dungeon’s infinitely random dungeon adventures. Get ready for exploration, loot, and what’s waiting for you in the deepest depths of the dungeons.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker

Coming to North America in early 2015, Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker is an expanded port for the tactical role-playing game originally on the 3DS. There’s almost twice as much content as the original game, and it includes a new plot that expands on the ending of the original.

Gunman Clive 2

We loved us some Gunman Clive. While Gunman Clive 2 missed its Fall 2014 release, 2015 will be better because of it. It’s the same classic gameplay from the first one, but with more dynamic levels, more bosses and the action dialed up a notch. There’s four playable characters with different abilities, and the game will run at 60 fps in both 2D and 3D.
