Are You Man Enough to Be Duke?

Think you’ve got what it takes to fill the boots and blood-red tank top of Duke Nukem, the pre-Governator Arnold-Schwarzenegger-in-his-prime look-alike who’s been the posterboy for vaporware for the past decade? Then now is your chance to strut your stuff.

Deep Silver, Inc. and Apogee Software have announced that they are looking for the next actor to play the role of Duke Nukem, representing the character for the release of Duke Nukem Trilogy in September. They are holding an open search talent contest across three cities this Spring, beginning in New York in April, then moving West to LA.

The final leg will be in Dallas, Texas, and the finalists from each will have a shot at competing at a special event during June’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. It is there that the final three Dukes will compete, culminating in the choosing of a new Duke.

Those who are chosen will be picked based on “how well they personify the character’s take-no-prisoners
attitude.” Further information can be found at the contest website, DukeIsBack.com.

As an aside, I personally dare and would love to see a female try to pull this off.
