Best Games of 2015: Fallout 4

Oh, Bethesda. You continually impress us with your grand RPGs, whether they're set in the high fantasy lands or post apocalyptic wastelands. You also continually let us down with just how much is broken in your games from outset. Still, there's no denying, that despite the many issues that Fallout 4 presented to many users, it was still very much a solid game, and one that we certainly don't regret playing, even through a game crash or two.

Fallout 4 takes us to Boston, years after we've been in cryosleep, our spouse murdered, and our baby taken. It's up to us to explore and reclaim much of the land from Raiders, Bandits and Mutants. Would we side with the Railroad? Brotherhood of Steel? The Institute? Or perhaps the Minutemen? The choice was completely up to us, and the decisions had quite some big ramifications.

But aside from simply experiencing the main story, Fallout 4 was filled with tons of side missions to partake in, weapons and gear to find, and hidden locations to uncover. There are tons of characters to meet and befriend, some which will join you on your quest, including the staple of the series, Dogmeat.

For the first time in a Fallout game, players could also lose track of time with the new crafting and building system. Settlements could be built from the ground up, whether wall by wall, or prebuilt. Guns could be disassembled and reassembled into completely new weapons of destruction, that would cater to your playstyle. The SPECIAL system was now reworked as well, giving players more freedom with how they chose to specialize.

What I'm trying to say is that Fallout 4 is an undertaking. It's a game that you can quite literally lose yourself in, and spend all your free time in. Though watch out if you're married, it could have some bad consequences.
