Best Games of 2015: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Talking about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is quite the undertaking. There's just so much right with this game, CD Projekt Red deserves all the praise they've been getting ever since the game launched. I remember putting about 50 hours into the game, only realizing that I still had a completely new, huge region of Skellige Islands to explore. Holy shit!

Not only was the writing and the story fantastic, but it's one of the very, very few games to get side questing right. Nothing in the game felt like it was filler content. A simple investigation of a seemingly haunted village could result in a completely new quest that reunites you with an old face. The beauty is you never see things like that coming, and they're the driving force behind pushing you to actually partake in them.

Then there's the various monster hunts that turned the game into one part detective, as you tried to investigate as much as you could about the beasts and one part Monster Hunter, as you dodged through their attacks and utilized what you learned against them.

I probably don't even have to mention the massive and gorgeous world you get to fully explore. Every little part of it feels alive, and further encourages exploring. You never know what kind of secret or side-quest you'll run into.

And then there's Gwent. While not everybody loved the in-game collectable card game, I was absolutely obsessed. There was even a quest-line that takes you all around the world, defeating various Gwent masters!

CD Projekt Red also seem to know how to do DLC. The first DLC, Hearts of Stone, which added 10+ hours of content to the game, was only $10! That's absolutely insane.

There's just so much more to this game that could fill this page, but instead of me doing that, you should be spending your time playing this game.
