Meteos
Published by Nintendo
Developed by Q Entertainment
Released June 2005, 2005
Why we chose it: Puzzle games have been plagued for years by unoriginal carbon copies. But every so often a game is released that breathes new life into this genre. Meteos may not stray to far from the standard formula, but it delivers it in such a unique, different, and dynamic way that it has revived and challenged the norm of puzzle games. And as simple as that, we give Meteos the award for Best Puzzle Game of 2005.
