Tony Hawk: American Sk8land
Published by Activision
Developed by Vicarious Visions
Released November 14, 2005
Why we chose it: When it comes to sports titles, one publisher seems to win best of honors every year. However, this time we have an upset. Tony Hawk: American Sk8land rolled its way onto the Nintendo DS in November and managed to capture everything people love about this series. The game runs at an incredible sixty frames per second and incorporates unique cell shaded art style. Tony Hawk: American Sk8land also takes full advantage of the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, allowing players from all over the globe to play together. There are even online scoreboards gamers can access through the Nintendo DS itself, or via the game’s website (http://www.american-sk8land.com). What else could we possibly want from a Sports game? This is simply the Best Sports Game of 2005.
