Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 map strategies – Grind

The first DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Revolution, is out now for Xbox 360. With each new map comes specific strategies, and I will be going over each of the four new maps in order to help you be the best soldier you can be. Remember, you also get the powerful Peacekeeper SMG in the Revolution map pack so be sure to use it. Viva la Revolution.

Map #17 Grind

Grind is my favorite map in the Revolution DLC. It doesn’t do anything to really stand out (unless you count the awesome inflatable tube men) from the other maps, but it is a very fun map to play.

Taking place on a skateboard park is an awesome choice that is fully realized on Grind. There is a lot of action in every corner, and you never really feel safe. Almost every part of the map has advantages and disadvantages that are realized throughout the map at any given moment.

The amount of chokepoints makes Grind show its true nature: gunfights. The middle of the map houses the only building, which can be accessed at three different sides and is incredibly dangerous to enter. Make sure you go slowly through the building, because I’ve been killed multiple times when running into the action. The other parts of the map are based around ramps, half-pipes, etc.

Weapon Recommendation

You paid for the Peacekeeper so you might as well use it. This extremely effective weapon is perfect for the medium-sized map and close-quarters building combat housed on Grind. This map feels like it was built for the Peacekeeper and definitely should be used like it. Make sure you add the foregrip whenever you use the Peacekeeper since it has a lot of kickback on it.

Pick 10

Primary – Peacekeeper

Attachments – Reflex sight, laser sight, foregrip

Secondary – None

Perk 1 – Lightweight

Perk 2 – Cold Blooded

Perk 3 – Dead Silence

Lethal – Grenade

Tactical – Shock Charge

Wildcard – Primary Gunfighter

Scorestreaks

Scorestreaks are very hard to come by in Grind, if not impossible. In my many times playing this map, I’ve only seen UAVs and Counter UAVs, so make the lower level scorestreaks your primary focus. For instance, I equipped:

UAV – Find out where your enemies are hiding

Counter UAV – Don’t let anyone see you or your teammates on the map

RC-XD – This is a free kill if you find someone while you drive along

Hunter Killer – Throw this into the air for a free kill

Care Package – Hope that you don’t get one of these other scorestreaks I mentioned

Overall Thoughts

Grind has everything I like in my Black Ops 2 maps: a primary focus on gunfights, the least amount of buildings and windows possible, and action at every part of the map. Grind is the best map you’ll find in the Revolution DLC and is one of my favorite maps in Black Ops 2… period. Make sure you vote for this map when you see it.

What do you think of Grind? Did you find similar playstyles to mine helpful? What are your strategies for Grind? Let me know in the comments below.
