Call of Duty Black: Ops 2 Map Strategies – Turbine

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is finally here. As most of you will soon find out, jumping straight into multiplayer without any idea of the maps, weapons and scorestreaks will be difficult. Luckily for you, I’ve been playing the game almost exclusively with countless trial and error to bring you my thoughts and weapon choices for each map. You see, every map is vastly different from one another and you have five different classes to create, so you better make good use of them.

Map: Turbine

When you take a look at the map for the first time, you realize the crazy amount of ways you can die on Turbine. Whether it’s getting killed from enemies moving around rocks to the snipers on the building/bridge, Turbine is one heck of a thrill ride.

This might be the hardest map for me to explain because it’s mainly formed by rocks. Try as I might, saying one rock is different from another will get confusing and tedious, so if you find yourself in a place where there are rocks everywhere you need to walk slowly and keep your head on a swivel.

Now then, we begin this map with the building on the top left. This is the ideal place to snipe from in this map and also houses an ineffective turret (DON’T use the turret). This area gives you complete access to a large chunk of the map when looking down and across by the plane wreckage and the other covered sniping area. This other area is shown on the bottom of the map (look for the little circle and look up) where the small rectangle-ish object is. This is your main competition and the place where you should look first.

The bridge is also a mainstay in Turbine and houses some interesting battles. If you look at the building mentioned before, simply look to the left of it and you will see a long object going vertically. This bridge houses battles from one side to the other and battles to the left and right sides. The left side is a main spawn point and the right is the crashed plane and access to the small covered sniping perch mentioned above.

On the bottom right of the bridge you’ll see another house-type location (not easy to see on the map) so make sure you keep your eye on that as well. A lot of people camp in this house waiting for players to come out of the left-most spawn point so be careful

Weapon Recommendation

Finally a great assault rifle map!! Well, sort of anyway, as sniper rifles are deadly on this long range map. If you stay towards the center and bottom of the map you need an assault rifle and if you stay towards the top of the map you need a sniper rifle. Got it? Good.

I used my Type 25 exclusively for this map along with the Target Finder (harder to see in the sand), Suppressor (so enemies cant see me on the mini-map) and Fore Grip (so I’m competitive long range). I also used the Bouncing Betty since it has a good chance of killing multiple enemies if they hunt in packs.

Pick 10

Primary – Type 25

————Attachments – Suppressor, Target Finder, Fore Grip

Secondary – None

Perk 1 – Hardline, Blind Eye

Perk 2 – Cold Blooded

Perk 3 – Dead Silence

Lethal – Bouncing Betty

Tactical – None

Wildcard – Perk 1 Greed

Scorestreaks

My favorite Scorestreaks for Turbine include:

Lightning Strike – Pick a rocky area, the bridge, and the building with the turret

RC-XD – Run around the map waiting to kill somebody

Sentry Gun – There are so many excellent places for this turret

Hunter Killer – Throw this anywhere for a kill

Overall Thoughts

I’m a big fan of Turbine. It seems like it’s the only map that can balance sniper rifles and other playstyles into one map. This doesn’t feel nearly as broken up or annoying during gameplay which is refreshing. Turbine is clearly one of the best in the game.

What do you think of Turbine? Did you find similar playstyles to mine helpful? What are your strategies for Turbine? Let me know in the comments below.
