Capcom Closes Their Umbrella for Resident Evil 5; Makes Way for Tricell

For some time, people have believed that the notorious Umbrella Corporation would continue its omnipresent appearances in the Resident Evil series, but after a recent chat with Capcom’s Senior Director of Communications, Chris Kramer, it would seem that is no longer the case.

A reporter from The Game Reviews caught up to Kramer at the Consumer Electronics Show last week, and he revealed that the Umbrella Corporation will no longer be the focus of the Resident Evil series.

Instead, as those who have seen Resident Evil: Degeneration might have guessed, the troubled corporation will instead give way to its competitors, the Tricell Pharmaceutical Company.

Kramer would not offer further information as to what role they may play in the series. Meanwhile, one is left to wonder how this might affect one Albert Wesker, assuming he should survive the majini outbreak.
