Frost first came about in Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance as Sub-Zero's apprentice. She is a human female with her own move set and not just a Sub-zero clone. She freezes general areas of the ground instead of her enemies themselves and can teleport as well. Also, Frost absolutely hates Sonya so her story would go beautifully with Stryker being added as a colleague again with her and Jax. The ice queen has had little playable time in the franchise, but carries with her a fair share of fan fare that would make her a success in MKX.
Stryker is a police officer with the NYPD in charge of the special Riot control division. He was originally in MK3 then again in Armageddon. He uses police grenades, tazers, duty issued pistol and baton all in various combinations to take down his enemies. Stryker was always a personal favorite of mine and would be easy to integrate into the story line. Other MK titles have seen him work with the Deacon City Police Dept with Sonya and Jax as well. Good ole' fashioned street justice is no stranger to Mortal Kombat and Stryker brings just that.
Skarlet was originally playable in Mortal Kombat 2011 as DLC after being a rumored tease in MKII as a Kitana Glitch. She uses swords and daggers as her weapons of choice and even has a move where she stabs herself and throws a ball of her own blood at her enemy. Similar to Kung Lao's hat throw, its trajectory can be controlled using the analog stick. Although MKX has its fair share of female characters, there isn't one with Skarlet's weapon and move set.
Blaze was originally a background character in the Pit map of Mortal Kombat 2. Being as Ed Boon teased the pit's return in a recent tweet, it's a good possibility he will be added. The final boss of Armageddon, Blaze can control fire, lava, heat etc. As the strongest character in the history of the franchise, Blaze can literally destroy all of existence. His fire-lava-teleport-melt move and projectiles would stand out beautifully on the new generation consoles as well as being able to have some sweet battles with ice warriors like Sub-zero. Blaze is a bad ass character and speaking of ice warriors he could face, be sure to read on….
Do we need to say any more. Lollipop Chainsaw's heroine has everything (and more) that is just simply perfect for Mortal Kombat. The pre-fight one liners uttered by the fighters can be pretty boring an uneventful, but we wouldn't need to worry about that with Juliet. Known for popping off with comments even more sexual than her appearance, she would add an interesting perspective of comedy to the game. Her chainsaw moves killing zombies would fit seamlessly into the game.
After all, how funny would it be to see her lop off someone's right arm only to come out with a comment like "Oopsie, guess you'll have to take care of yourself lefty now".
Gentek's researcher in Manhattan, Prototype's Alex Mercer realized the company he was working for was murdering its employees. He decided to try and expose them and as a result, triggered a viral outbreak on the island and killing millions in a few weeks. Mortal Kombat is all about revenge, and who wants revenge more than Alex Mercer. After the company he worked for tried to kill him, he lost his humanity and became a human killing machine augmented with incredible powers.
The weapons Mercer could use and generate from his powers would make for great and gory moves in Mortal Kombat, which is what it's all about. After all, most of us play now just to see the fatalities then we're nearly done. Mercer wouldn't leave anything to the imagination.
With Ed Boon and NetherRealm Studios recently announcing that Mortal Kombat X's second Kombat Pack is coming in 2016, we got to thinking on who we wanted to see added into the game. With some characters rumored, but no one officially confirmed by the developer, it left us to our imaginations. We've included seven characters we hope will make the cut. Even though the Kombat Pack is four characters, any of the seven will suffice.
Spawn has been requested for so long that it would be almost criminal at this point not to include him in the game with the announcement of the Kombat Pack 2. Al Simmons (real name) and his cape which can take the form of any weapon he has in mind just has Mortal Kombat written all over it. His flagship weapon, the double sided axe known as Agony, is prime for unbelievable fatalities. Remember, back in February, creator Todd Macfarlane stated that Warner Bros can use him whenever they want, as long as they let him know by a certain point. Here's what he said.
"They have access to be able to use the character in a couple of their games, if they want to. Again, it’s up to their discretion. I gave them a window of time, so I’ll just leave it to them to do what it is that they want. Eventually, they’ll phone me and they’ll go, ‘Hey, we want to use him here. Is that OK?’ Well, technically, it’s OK because we’ve already said yes. They just are letting us know. I don’t know if they’re ever going to use him.”
That point could have been back then and they are just holding out until now. Let's hope so.
