As Call of Duty fans are well-aware, Activision and Infinity Ward have plans to unveil Call of Duty: Ghosts' highly anticipated multiplayer. Since the game's reveal, Activision has spoke highly of the game's renewed focus on story in the single-player campaign, but let's not act like it's the single-player gameplay that sells millions of copies of Call of Duty at launch.
People care about one thing when it comes to Call of Duty: the multiplayer. And the hype is at an all-time high for this year's Ghosts. As the first next-gen Call of Duty, there are plenty of expectations when it comes to multiplayer. Activision has already confirmed Dynamic Maps — maps that change over the course of a match, effectively altering gameplay — but is that all they have planned?
In this week's question, some of the GameZone staff discusses what they want to see from the Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer reveal.
With Call of Duty: Ghosts, I'm in the same boat. I have no intention on buying it, but I'm just waiting for Activision and Infinity Ward to blow me away with some sort of new feature. The fact is, Call of Duty's gameplay is already fun. It's not the most balanced or perfect game, but it's entertaining. People are always going to complain about hit boxes, over-powered perks, and unbalanced weapons; there's no way Infinity Ward can win that battle. So instead focus on that one feature that will convince me to go out and buy the game.
I don't know what I want that feature to be, but I'm excited to see what they have to offer. Oh, and the dynamic environments are a nice touch, but not enough to win me over yet.
Verdict: Something amazing I guess… too bad I don't know what that is.
Let me rephrase this question: what do I not want to see from the Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer reveal?
The answer: perks that break the game, bad respawn spots, weapons that'll make you say “oh f*ck that,” soldiers running around dual-wielding machine guns, and zombies – boy am I tired of zombies. But if we took all of these things away, we wouldn't have Call of Duty multiplayer, now would we?

Verdict: Hates Call of Duty. Still going to buy it at launch.
When it comes to Call of Duty multiplayer, there isn't much that I think can be done at this point to innovate the gameplay. Last year's pick 10 for Black Ops 2 was actually one of the more innovative steps in the right direction for the franchise. With Call of Duty making the jump to next-gen this year, I can only hope that a leap in technology will lead to a leap in multiplayer mechanics as well.
If there is one thing I'm already excited for, it's the dynamic maps. Sure, it's seems to be a blatant copy of Battlefield 4's crazy destructible environments (Come on, did you see that skyscraper crumble during that multiplayer match?) but at the same time, you have to give credit where credit is due. It's especially nice to see for a franchise that's never had that gameplay mechanic before.
I hope pick 10 comes back since that was a pretty revolutionary way to balance out loadouts. Other than that, anything that the team has to announce is a mystery to me. Regardless, it's Call of Duty; it's not only going to sell amazingly well, but will have people devouring the multiplayer from day one.
Verdict: A leap in multiplayer mechanics.
