Dark Souls II Boss Guide: Smelter Demon

This guy gave me a hell of a time. He starts slow and weak but powers up twice during the battle. The second time he powers up, I use a Gold Pine Resin to output more damage. The trick I learned for beating this guy was to always to try to roll behind him. He has a slow turn speed and does many horizontal attacks. If you can get him to swing where you arn’t, punish him hard. He’s well armored, so it will take a bit. During his third form, try to fight him near the sides of the circular room, he does a nova that is pretty large. When he puts his sword in the ground, break lock, and run the other way.
