Dark Souls II Boss Guide: Velstadt, The Royal Aegis

Another boss that gave me issues for reasons I’m not sure. Yea, he hits like a truck, but his attacks are similar to say Sentinels or any other long weapon boss. I kept getting him really low then dying. At some point in the fight, he powers up with purple energy. This gives him a new ranged attack. To dodge this attack get close to him, wait for him to almost fire, then get behind him – he’ll lock on you right up until he’s about to fire. If you have Gold Pine Resins, use one when he powers up to maximize your damage. For some reason… in my kill of him in this video he never powers up. I honestly don’t know why, maybe something triggers it?
