While no official announcement from publisher Activision has been made, an update to the EBGames.com website shows that the latest in the mega-popular DOOM franchise will be scaring the pants off of Xbox owners on March 1, 2005. The site also contains info on a Limited Collector’s Edition of the DOOM 3 which will retail for $59.99 and contain lots of extra goodies for fans for the series. The listing states that the bonus items to be included in the Collector’s Edition are:
Perhaps the most exciting news is that the listing also confirms an online multiplayer mode via Xbox Live as well as an online Co-op mode for the single player campaign. DOOM 3 features a dramatic storyline, pulse-pounding action, incredible graphics, and revolutionary technology combine that developer id Software promises will draw you into the most frightening and gripping first person gaming experience ever created. Hopefully we’ll receive an official confirmation of these details from publisher Activision in the near future.
