danceNintendo announced today that their profits for the previous business year rose by 3.6 percent. The companies operating profit for the fiscal year is said to be 111.52 billion yen, roughly $1.04 billion. In addition, shares in Nintendo increased by 11.3 percent, while it’s competitors stock all decreased.
The company has also raised their expectations for the Nintendo DS. The video game maker is now projecting to sell 12.4 million portable systems by years end. Since it’s launch to the end of the business year, March 31st, Nintendo sold 5.27 units of the system.
Sales of the system itself are not the only thing on the rise either. The company now expects to sell over 35 million games for their new portable. The increase in software sales is said to be three times greater than the previous year’s mark.
