Elite Beat Sales Disappointing

Sales of Elite Beat Agents have been less than expected according to Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime.

The game has so far sold only 120,000 copies, quite a bit off the projected 300,000 copies expected within the first month. Speaking to MTV News, Reggie had this to say: “The sales are strong and good. I personally thought it was going to be explosive. The consumers I’ve talked to who have it love it. But it’s really about exposing it to consumers and letting them see how addictive this game is.”

Fans of the new game hoping for numerous sequels can rest easy as Reggie confirmed Nintendo is still interested in creating a new franchise based on the unique title. “The developer has been fantastic to work with and our hope is maybe this could become a new franchise.”
