Enterbrain: Wii Outsells PS3 3:1 in 2007

Nintendo sold over three times as many Wii systems in Japan last year as Sony did PS3 systems, according to Enterbrain.

Nintendo sold 3.63 million systems last year, compared to 1.21 million PS3 systems. Meanwhile, Microsoft was able to move a meager 257, 841 Xbox 360 systems in Japan. During October, Sony cut the price of the PS3 by nearly 10% and then followed up with a new cheaper model during November. During those months, Sony did see some success against the Wii in Japan; the PS3 outsold the Wii from October 29 to November 25.
