Fallout 4 Guide: Beginner’s guide to finding and managing junk and resources

Here's what to do with all that junk you're carrying in your pockets

As you're exploring the Commonwealth in Fallout 4, you'll undoubtedly come across a ton of random junk. The thing is, since it's all useful now, you'll actually want to pick it all up. Unfortunately for you, your pockets aren't limitless.

In this video, we give you a brief explanation on how collecting junk works, how to do it efficiently, and where to store it all so you can always have enough resources to build anything your heart desires.

No need to scrap each item down to its basic resources. Each junk item will do that automatically when you're crafting. The one thing to keep in mind is that you always want to store all your junk into a Settlement's workshop. Since those can hold an infinite amount of junk, it's the best place to store it all if you're planning on building and crafting a lot. Know that anything you scrap in the settlement goes directly into the workshop and not into your inventory, making this process a bit easier. Also, remember that you can instantly transfer all junk into your workshop with a click of a button. Just look for the prompt on the bottom of the screen.
