February’s Xbox LIVE Marketplace Updates

Xbox LIVE Director of Programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb has updated his blog to inform us of what to expect over the coming month in the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

The big ones, as seen at the top of this article, are the Games on Demand releases of Street Fighter IV on February 9th (hey, that’s today!) and Resident Evil 5 and Beautiful Katamari on the 16th. And if you live in Europe, Australia, or New Zealand, you can get Halo Wars today, too, while Viva Piñata: Party Animals makes its way to Japan on the 16th.

The Deal of the Week for February 15th will be Xbox LIVE Arcade’s Battlefield 1943 for 800 Microsoft Points. Joining it on the Arcade will be Darwinia + for 1200 points on February 10th, and The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom for 1200 points on February 17th.

Xbox Avatars sound like they’re getting plenty of updates, too. Here are “just a few” collections planned:

Feb. 11: Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
Feb. 16: Resident Evil 5
Feb. 18: Metro 2033

Finally, 1v100 will be having its final shows of the season:

Join Syfy Network’s Magda Apanowicz a.k.a. Lacy Rand from the Battlestar Galactica spinoff Caprica on Tuesday, February 9 at 9:00pm ET/6:00 pm PT. And on the season finale this Friday at February 12 at 10:00pm ET/7:00 pm PT tune in for special Halo franchise show with 343 Industries Frank O’Connor and Bungie’s Marty O’Donnell live in studio.

And I guess that’s it for February? It just sort of drops off after the 18th.
