The Thirteenth installment of the wildly popular Final Fantasy franchise is still deep in development, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get a peek at some of the new features.
The latest issue of PSM gives a few nice bits of info for both Final Fantasy XIII and FF Versus XIII. First off, the magazine confirms the exclusion of all random battles within the game. Instead, the game will build off the excellent battle system introduced in FF XI and XII. Battle director Toshiro Tsuchida is aiming to create natural “ecosystems†where characters will react differently depending on their setting.
While far more cryptic, new information on the completely separate Square-Enix title, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, has also come to light. Every weapon within the game is said to have its own camera system and control system. The article compares the graphics for both games as being similar to the Final Fantasy: The Spirits within full-length movie.
