Oh lord, this game cannot come out soon enough. Not that I’m especially eager to play it, I just want the torture at the hands of Obata and Igarashi to end.
Kotaku reveals that three more characters are getting all up in the mix, including Carmilla, Golem, and the first Belmont ever to hand Dracula’s head back over to him on a platter, Trevor Belmont, pictured above.
Seen some other art for Trevor around. Figured he’d look like Chief Yagami from Death Note, but nope; here, he seems to be 23, the same age as this game’s Simon. And they both wield the whip Vampire Killer! Isn’t that a gas? I get the feeling those two are going to provide the Ken/Ryu dynamic that every fighting game so desperately needs.
He seems to be sporting an eyepatch, but from what I can tell, his garb is less bondage fetish-y than Simon’s.
Also of note is that the new Nintendo Power says that pirate Grant DaNasty and priestess Sypha Belnades will join in the fun. And that, alongside Alucard and Trevor (and Dracula), ultimately leads to a complete cast reunion from Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, which I believe was one of Igarashi’s favorites. Coincidence? Yeah, right.
