There are a lot of scary video games out there. A big part of what makes them scary is having an enemy (or enemies) that frighten the crap out of you. That can happen in a couple of ways — by appearance, story, or how terrifyingly difficult they might be to defeat. Here are some of the video game characters that have made us stay up at night…
Pyramid Head (Silent Hill)
Pyramid Head is scary for a couple of reasons. The design is definitely one of them. From the sharp angles of the hulking metal pyramid on his head, to the sharp blades he wields, the overall character design is terrifying. And the fact that he doesn’t attack you the first few times you see him — that you’re a voyeur to his actions — makes him even scarier. Then, when he does attack you, it's probably time to change your underwear.
Stalkers (Dead Space 2)

See them run in and out of cover. And then they charge you, hit you and run away. Or they flank you. Clever girls…
Piggsy (Manhunt)
Piggsy from Manhunt. A mass murderer who is overweight, mentally deranged, carries a chainsaw, and WEARS A F*CKING SEVERED PIG HEAD OVER HIS OWN. Yeah… not scary at all… right?!

They’re reanimated infants whose bodies and torsos are twisted backwards, and they exist for one purpose — to explode and kill you. I don’t like the way they crawl/slither, and reanimated babies give me the heebie jeebies.
Reborn Laura (The Evil Within)
Pretty much all of GameZone agreed, Reborn Laura (also referred to as the spider lady) from The Evil Within is one of the scariest characters we’ve seen in a video game in some time. She comes out of a bloody body, has multiple arms/legs/limbs, a terrifying design, and she bloody teleports! I’m out…
