It is still official in most large retail stores across America, the Playstation 3 is still expensive. With the 20GB system $499 US and the 60GB at $599 US, it is a true blessing for more video game focused retailers such as EB Games and GameStop to offer such a price drop.
How about slashing an entire $100 dollars from each system? These means the 60GB is within a more reasonable range and the 20GB system, which is popular for the black trim, runs at $399 Us.
The offer is simple, by trading the PS2 unit in full working order and a few accesories, you see $100 dollars off the price of either system of your choosing. The Fine print ad goes into further detail:
“Offer not good on cash trades. Trades must be in full working condition to receive full value. Cannot be combined with any other offer. PS2 System trade must include controller, AV cable & power cord. Trade-ins subject to manager approval. Playstation 3 systems subject to availability by location. See store associate for details. No dealers. No Rainchecks. Offer Expires 02/18/07.”
Considering that larger stores such as Best Buy, Circuit City & Fryz Electronics do not offer trade ins, EB Games and Gamestop might possibly move an increased amount of units before the offer expires in the next few weeks.
