With the recent release of Alien Hominid HD on Xbox Live Arcade, there’s been a surge of renewed interest in The Behemoth’s next side-scrolling action game, Castle Crashers.
Unfortunately, those looking forward to trading in their blasters for swords and shields are in for a long wait. The Behemoth revealed to Joystiq that the game still had about a year’s worth of development time left to go.
Xbox Live Arcade fans may have to start getting used to longer development times than they’re used to now that Microsoft has increased the file size limit for games on the downloadable service. With 512mb to work with, developers have more headroom to cram in content and extra features, but that extra content takes time to implement. Hopefully developers wont feel pressure to fill every last megabyte of the new file size limit, so gamers will have smaller titles to fill in the gaps between the major XBLA releases.
