Sometimes things go full-circle in funny ways.
WayForward Technologies built most of its backlog on licensed fare, such as Justice League Heroes: The Flash, Godzilla: Domination, and other various kid-oriented fare. But they were also known for one other thing: Shantae, a character of their own creation. Then the guys at Konami came a-knockin’, and WayForward was thrust into a new spotlight as the Contra 4 guys, reviving the classic series in an oldschool style of glory no one ever thought they’d see again.
Now, WayForward is looking to bring back their own property, Shantae, according to Siliconera. After bumping into WayForward’s Tyrannical Overlord (seriously, it’s in the Contra 4 credits) Voldi Way, he said that they were looking to let their half-genie back out of the bottle on Wii, and “the plan” is for it to be a WiiWare title.
