Ghost in the Shell is a lot of things—a long-running manga and anime, one of the progenitors of cyberpunk, an obscure PlayStation title—but it's never been a free-to-play multiplayer shooter. Until now, that is, thanks to the efforts of studios Nexon and Neople. But what is Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Online – First Assault really about? Other than hyphens and colons, of course. Well, we had a chance to preview the game before its launch on Steam Early Access today (time of writing), Monday, December 14. So let's find out.
If you're interested in joining First Assault's Early Access, you can apply through Nexon's official site. Also, although the game is free-to-play, you can buy your way into this early period. Below you'll find an overview of the packages available. We've also got the rundown on the origins of the project and its makers if you're interested.
