Good News for a Third-Party Developer

Nintendo’s first party games have always seen decent sales. Sometimes these sales draw away from the success of third-party titles. While this is not always the case, third-parties will be more willing to make games for a console when they know their games will sell well.

Tecmo recently announced that they shipped 200,000 units of Super Swing Golf since it’s release on December 12. This number is higher than their initial estimates and while the game has been released in Japan and the US, it has yet to come out in Europe.

Success for third-parties means success for Wii. Hopefully this trend will continue and third-party strength will grow meaning more games for Wii owners.
