Halo 3 Update 2 has hit Live with new achievements, new playlists, a new rating system, and a bunch of other cool stuff. I think we should all celebrate this occasion by taking tomorrow off from work and playing Halo 3. There’s new achievements and that means that nothing else matters in life until I have them. Probably the most intriguing thing about the update is that Bungie is saying that even though some of the achievements are worth 0 points, they will translate to something in the future. I wonder if you’ll be able to cash them in for mounts in the Halo MMO. I hope so!
Let’s dive into this a little deeper and try and address some of the questions that will no doubt arise from the community. First off are the “Vidmaster Challenge” achievements. These three will not earn you any gamer points but there will (eventually) be a pay-off. We’re not going to spoil the fun just yet but suffice it to say that gamerscore isn’t everything. There is a pot of gold at the end of the Vidmaster rainbow and it is something you will want. More details later. — Bungie.net
So what is the big pay off and where do I collect? I’m pretty sure I’ll be starting on these later tonight and if any of you get in my way, you’re going to die by the blade of my energy sword. Don’t test.
