Brain Training US Dated

Nintendo of America has officially named and date the two previously announced Brain Training titles for North America. Inspired by the work of Professor Ryuta Kawashima, a prominent Japanese neuroscientist, the two unique Nintendo DS offerings are aimed at stimulating the human brain through reading and mathematical exercises.

“Young or old, everyone looks for ways to get a mental edge,” says Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of sales & marketing. “Our brain-training series, led by Brain Age, builds on the popularity of word and number puzzles and acts as a treadmill for the mind.”

The two titles, Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day and Brain Age: Big Brain Academy include their own individual set of math and reading exercises for which users write their answers on the portable system’s touch screen.

The critically acclaimed and popular series has previously been released in Japan, where each of the three ventures has sold over one million copies. Nintendo’s Brain Age titles showcase the company’s goal to develop and promote games to a wide audience. The upcoming Nintendo DS games will each support single cartridge wireless play for up to eight individual users.

Train Your Brain is slated to release on April 17th, 2006 and has been rated “E” for everyone by the ESRB. The ensuing title, Big Brain Academy will arrive shortly afterwards on May 30th and has also been rated “E”.

We’ll have more on these titles in the coming weeks. Stay tuned. ffsdfdfeds
