Namco today released official details on the upcoming DS game Shogun Warrior: The Lost Army. Under development by Box Clever, the game is set for an October 2005 release and will take full advantage of the touch screen features of the Nintendo DS.

Shogun Warrior: The Lost Army takes place in a dark, violent feudal Japan, where two brothers, bound by blood, are locked in battle for the title of Shogun king. In the game, which is a dynamic, real-time tactical strategy game, gamers are put in charge of the battlefield and must prepare their warrior prince for battle. The goal: conquer all neighboring armies and become the supreme ruler of Japan, for once Japan is yours, you can unlock the secret to the legendary arm of rebel monks.

Features of Shogun Warrior: The Lost Army include:

  • The best elements of PC-style real-time strategy gameplay – for the first time ever, command armies in real-time battles that fit in the palm of your hand.

    • Real-time tactical battle system utilizes BOTH screens – map out your strategy on the bottom screen and command your armies to execute 3-D battles on the top screen.

  • Troop management – use diplomacy and military strategy to achieve your ultimate goal.
  • Touch screen mini-games for extreme replay value – Forest Duels, Castle Siege, Sea Battle, and Ninja Battle, and more.
  • Assassinations – kill off your political rivals to gain military supremacy by hiring highly trained, stealthy Ninja.
  • Wireless multiplayer action – enter into battle with up to 16 of your friends.
