One of the strangest games for the Nintendo DS that I tried was Polarium. As someone who hasn’t followed up on the title, I was very much confused as to what was the overall goal in the game. After a little experimentation, I found out that the idea behind the game is very much like Tetris, in that you have to get rid of rows of blocks and new rows will follow.
The blocks are colored white on one side and black on the other. The player has to flip the blocks over by drawing a path on them using the stylus. The trick as you go along is that time is counting down and you have to get all the rows below a red line otherwise the game ends.
In order to keep under the time limit, the player will have to try and draw over as many tiles as possible in order to get as many rows completed as possible. There are other modes available for play like puzzle mode, in which you have to turn over the blocks of the same color in one stroke of the stylus.
This unique title is scheduled to be released in April, so it won’t be long now before this addictive game gets even more recognition. Stay tuned for more information as it comes in.body
