Infinity Ward Suggests Call of Duty 4 Announcement Next Week

A recent post by an admin on the official Infinity Ward forums more or less announces the existence of Call of Duty 4, the next installment in Activision’s war series. While the franchise has always centered on World War II in the past, recent rumors suggest that the game could take place during another war entirely.

Forum admin Fourzerotwo gave the not-so-subtle hint, revealing that the announcement date would be April 28, six days from today. Further enticing fans of the series, the post goes on to recall previous events in US history that also occurred on April 28, such as the discovery of the yellow vaccine or the birth date of James Monroe, the fifth president of the US (for a far more detailed list of events, click here).

The Call of Duty series exploded onto the gaming scene in 2003 garnering a wealth of awards and special recognition. The latest main installment, Call of Duty 3, was released last November in the US.
