A few weeks after outspoken and beloved Jim Merrick announced his departure from Nintendo, the company has named a replacement for Merrick. Laurent Fischer will be taking on the role of head of marketing for Nintendo of Europe.
“Nintendo is moving into a very exciting and innovative time as we expand the definition of gaming and broaden the population of video games players,†said Fischer. “I am looking forward to the new challenge of working for Nintendo at a European level in this particularly significant period.”
Also, on a more video game related note, Nintendo re-confirmed that Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will still be coming to GameCube this year, and that Revolution will also hit in 2006.
