It has been announced that Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days will hit store shelves August 24th on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. In the original, you played as Kane accompanied by one of the most chilling, cynical, and evil characters in all of gaming, Lynch. Though, the poor controls, bugs, and various other broken gameplay mechanics took away from the experience.
Eidos hopes to fix these problems this time around. With the player now in control of Lynch, anything can happen in the streets of Shanghai.
The art-style in this game is another key aspect. All the camera angles, are shot from a behind view, like if someone was following the two with a digital camera. If you are getting shot at or injured, the screen starts to pixelate, simulating streaming video. No news yet on the meaning of this bold new art-syle, but hopefully it will be explained in the coming months.
The original, despite all of its technical problems, was very immersive. The characters and story really drove you to keep playing. If they can totally revamp the combat as well as continue to develop a deep and interesting story, their is potential to be had in this sequel.
If Eidos is able to fix all the issues that plagued the first game Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days could be a summer blockbuster.
