Killzone 2 Will Be Ready to Take on CoD4, Says Dev Guerrilla

Now that Kojima’s shoved MGS4 out the door, the PS3’s next significant title is undoubtedly Killzone 2. From what we’ve seen so far, the game is probably going to be huge fun. Then again, the same was said of its processor, which fell flat on its back when put up against the hype surrounding it.

That’s all of little importance right now, because developer Guerrilla Games is doing all it can to keep gamers salivating for its next title. “The level of anticipation for the 2005 trailer meant that people expected the biggest thing ever to materialize, and what we’ve shown so far, at last year’s E3 and today means that we’re living up to the expectation,” Steven Ter Heide, the game’s senior producer noted.

Killzone 2 has the herculean task of being pitted against Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which broke all sorts of records and garnered countless awards. What does the dev team think of CoD4 and, more importantly, how will Killzone 2 compare? “COD is a game that virtually everybody in the office has played through and completed. We know where our game stands, and we’re up for it, definitely.”
