I’m a big fan of Konami. And I’m a big fan of Hudson! Both make awesome games, and since Konami owns a majority 54% share of the latter company, they’ve been pretty much hand in hand for a lot of their events. For example, at Konami’s Gamer’s Night every year, they usually have a room set off just for Hudson games, and at E3, they shared the same floor areas to show off their games. Now, if rumors are true, the two companies will probably get even closer.
According to Andriasang, Konami is looking to purchase Hudson outright, turning the company most famous for Bomberman into just a subsidiary of the big K. Apparently there will be a stock swap on March 31, and all will become engulfed into Konami. All in all, it doesn’t seem like a bad thing, and can hopefully see some marketed improvement for Hudson’s greatest titles, as well as bringing some casual flavor to Konami.
