Launch Info Still Coming in September

Nintendo reiterated today that it would release new Wii launch details this September. The information came from a phone interview between Bloomberg and Nintendo of Japan spokesperson Yasuhiro Minagawa.

Minagawa said during the call, “There’s no change in our plan to release the console in the last quarter of this year. We are planning an announcement in September and it may be causing some confusion.”

Yesterday, reports surfaced that Nintendo could release Wii during September. Nintendo of Japan’s statement today seems to directly conflict with yesterday’s reports, as it’s unlikely Nintendo will announce Wii’s launch date and price during the same month it plans to ship the system.

Stay tuned for more reiterated statements from Nintendo as they happen.
