Famed indie game Machinarium is no longer chained to its PC and Mac prisons. Looks like the flash-based game from Amanita Design will be coming to Wiis around the globe via Nintendo’s WiiWare channel.Â
Machinarium is a beautifully rendered game that present players with puzzles and conundrums that can’t be solved with the title’s point-and-click controls. WiiWare has had success with games like this in the past.
What is interesting about ports like these is that if a person wanted to play Machinarium all they had to do was get on their ancient PC or Mac and plop down the $19.99. Though, certainly there are those gamers who will simply give the game a try because it is on WiiWare and don’t touch PC games.Â
Another reason why Amanita is having the game ported is because of the games purported 90% piracy rate. That is that of all the existing copies of Machinarium on people’s harddrives only 10% actually paid for the game. Can’t blame the developers for wanting to make the game available on a more secure marketplace.Â
There was no price announced, but the game is available on Steam for $19.99, so expect something in that range.Â
