Mass Effect 2 Voice Recording Took “Twice as Long” as ME1; Trilogy Will Conclude on 360

If you consider yourself a big fan of the voice acting in Mass Effect, then you are going to love Mass Effect 2.

RPG Site reports that a recent interview with the voice of Commander Shepard, Mark Meer, said “I spent most of last summer recording my ME2 dialogue – it’s HUGE. I’d estimate I spent at least twice as much time in the booth as I did for the first game.”

GameZone (via Connected Consoles) recently held an interview of their own with Project Director Casey Hudson in which he explained that they would not be finishing the Mass Effect trilogy on Microsoft’s next machine.

“That was always the intention,” he said. “You get the Xbox 360 or your PC, but the Xbox 360 is the one that’s going to run out of time at some point, and you create your character and play through an entire trilogy on that platform.”

In a way, that’s a better deal than Halo fans got with their trilogy, which saw the first two games released on the original Xbox, but the third released for the Xbox 360. On the other hand, with ODST, Halo Wars, and Halo: Reach on the way, it’s not as though a diehard Halo fan would have been investing in the system for the one game, anyway.
