Midway has announced that it will be bringing a new installment to the popular Rush series of racing games, that appeared in arcades and various consoles, but has been absent from the world of gaming for years now.
This new installment will be developed by the internal team at Midway, and will include an entirley new technology engine designed especially for L.A. Rush. The new engine will help Midway create an extemely acurate virtual Los Angeles. Beverly Hills, Compton, Hollywood, LAX, and Santa Monica are some of the areas you will be able to cruise around in.
Midway also announced that the game will be free-roaming with a mission-based structure. Other modes include cop chase, cross-traffic, and gridlock situations, while old-school gameplay elements like jumps and extreme shortcuts make their return as well. There will be around 50 vehicles to choose from including import cars, SUVs, and muscle cars. Along with customizable parts and a licensed soundtrack in addition to cleberty voice overs.
It looks like Midway has another winner on it’s hands Spring 2005 when L.A. Rush is currently scheduled to ship.
